by Bad Company
~ I’m about to commit a heresy ~
I don’t like Bad Company. I find too much of their catalog to be pretty generic, underwritten, under-produced, and with unimaginative lyrical themes. This one is the exception. It’s got a good riff, Paul Rodgers sounds like he actually cares, and it’s not the same old classic rock radio crap that we’ve been force-fed for 35 years
I try to find the good in everything, and this is the one good thing I can find in Bad Company’s catalog. It’s unfortunate too, because there is plenty of talent in this band, but it was undone by some insanely poor songwriting choices and drunk frat-boy over-adulation of truly soporific crap.
