~ Rain, loneliness, and Weiland ~

I picked this up while in training at Ft Knox, Kentucky. I knew the ‘hit’ tunes on there – Interstate Love Song was all over the radio at the time – but the rest of the album might well be better than the debut. This one, a forgotten dirge-like grind with a jumbled rhythm track and repetitive lyrics, seemed a perfect fit for driving around by myself after hours in the rain when I really didn’t have anywhere to go, but didn’t want to just sit in my apartment being bored along with Sportscenter repeats and microwave food. Even today, it’s a mood I can almost reach out and touch.
